Chianti means beatifull hills, fields and woods, vineyards and olive trees, villas castles and fortified medieval towns, like a scene out of a fourteenth century painting.
Tavarnelle Val di Pesa is also situated in a very strategic position in the centre of Tuscany, so Florence, Siena, SanGimignano, Monteriggioni and Certaldo are all very easy to reach. In one hour it is possible to get to Volterra and Pisa.
During the summer months a lot of interesting events take place, such as the famous "Palio" in Siena ( July and August ), the "Maggio Musicale" in the month of May in Florence, The famous "Calcio Storico" tournament in June again in Florence along with various medieval festivals in Certaldo, Monteriggioni, Volterra.... and many other festivals that celebrate the local food and wine.
